Brad Meltzer has done it again by providing both an exciting and human tale with Justice League #1. He once again has dipped into DC comics history to bring back to the spotlight the Red Tornado and his family. He has managed to weave a tale that focuses on family and friends (while giving us a peak at the new Metal Men, hinted at in 52). I loved seeing Deadman, with a twist that provided a glimpse of an old Justice League enemy, and another in the shadows. I enjoyed the back and forth between Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman about putting together the new League, while at the same time it seems the League may be about to put itself back by itself. To show how deeply Brad has dived into DC Lore, we saw a glimpse of Signalman (an old Batman villain). That's digging deep. I found Doctor Impossible to be worth a second look, and the idea of 'hush' tubes and a 'father' box are intriguing. I can't wait for the next issue, and to see Brad in person when he swings into Washington DC.

52 is one of the best books out there. The idea of the bomber and rat poison was chilling. I did not expect things to end that way for Black Adam. It made sense that after what he had done, Intergang would target the wedding. Poor Montoya-after what she did, I wonder if in the post 52 future she might merit a visit from Crispus Allen/The Specter. The last page makes me think we will be leaving Kahndaq for a while, and go back to our lost in space heroes. And, if there is a bounty on them, Lobo can't be too far behind.
