I agree with you on that note. The way alot of comic book movies are being produced now adays, my interest is drawn away from them because of something all too common about some within the genre that I cannot quite pick out. But my rejection is just my rationalization for not actually getting out much to see a movie so maybe I could be wrong. I'm not entirely sure about that one.
As for what did not draw my interest, I did not care too much to go see the hulk. I am assuming that one of the main attractions to the Fantastic Four movie was indeed Jessica Alba for some. I would be guilty of that if I went to see the movie. Cat Woman however did not have the same appeal to me. Ghost Rider appeared to coast off of special effects and action from what I assumed from the commercials. And due to the fact that I am not that fond of seeing X-Men III, aside from the fact that I would have to pay money that I don't have to rent the DVD, is because of how I saw they set up a few advancing players within the movie's version of the story. To put it, Phoenix came out of left field for me in X2. There was that and SuperMan Returns just does not seem as appealing a character to me; the preview appeared to be just as bland to me. But as I have said earlier, maybe it is because I have not gotten the privilage to see these movies for my opinion to change.
Among the movies being produced from comics, there are a couple of films that I am sure many like as much as I do. The string of Spider-Man movies as well as Sin City have been my favorites so far. I do not know why exactly Spider-Man has left me to look out for the third release. It is possible the one accompanying me to both spiderman 1 and 2 was a female which at times changes things. But Sin City kept my attention with the narration, acting, scene and other elements that you do not see in some movies as of late.
Hopefully The Iron Man movie, as well as Watchmen, will prove to be something worthy of watching. Here's to hoping that the producers do them Justice.
