New Avengers #31 Contest
Marvel and the comic book pundits are hyping the hell out of the last panel of NEW AVENGERS #31 (to be released on June 13th). According to Marvel it'll be the "The most important last page of any Marvel comic this year!" In a normal year that might not mean much, but what they're saying is that it'll be more important than Captain America getting killed.
We at Fantom Comics are intrigued. So much so that we're holding a contest. The winner gets a $15 gift card to the store.

Post a comment to this entry stating what you think will happen/be revealed in the last panel of New Avengers #31. The description can be as general or specific as you like, but be warned! If several people have roughly the same prediction, the award will go to the person who provided the most accurate detail and/or made the least mistakes. Let's see what you've got people!

Judging might end up being a bit subjective, but maybe not. It'll depend on how close your guesses are to each other. In the end, the judge's decision (by which I mean mine) is final.

My guess doesn't count, of course, but I have to agree with Jason and say that the last panel reveals someone behind the whole Civil War/Registration Act. Personally, I think this would be a tremendous cop-out, as pro-registration is a reasonable (if poorly handled) stance to take. My bet is it's Howard the Duck behind it all.

Ok, here’s my guess. I think its correct that it will reveal the villain behind the scenes who is doing everything. I think however, its going to be someone obvious like Red Skull. He obviously orchestrated Caps death (by using Crossbones). And by not killing Cap till he had disgraced himself, he has finally achieved his objective of sullying Caps good name. Furthermore, he likes manipulating stuff, he has developed all sorts of connections over the years, that would allow him to manipulate Shield (when he was defense sec), Hydra (friendship with von Stroker/other NAZIS), corporations to give Nitro more power to kick off Civil War, and so on. Its clearly his MO. The only thing though, if I’m right and it is him, then this definitely won’t be the biggest event of the year…

I've got it! Here's my final prediction:
Thor returns, but instead of bonding with Donald Blake, he bonds with Steve Rogers! This would bring back both Thor AND Captain America.
Of course, my vote doesn't count, so...

I think the final panel will show Steve Rogers reappering to Spiderman, who will then ask 'Steve?' to which he will say 'yes' and 'no' and then he will strike a cane to transform into the Mighty Thor.
