The upcoming X-men movie, focusing on Wolverine, appears to be well underway. The first images of Hugh Jackman reprising his role from the previous X-films have just been released here. Judging by some of the roles announced, with will.i.am playing Wraith, Daniel Henney as Maverick/Agent Zero, Ryan Renyolds as Deadpool, and Lynn Collins as Silver Fox, it appears the focus will be on Wolverine's time before the X-men, with a Weapon X type team carrying out black ops missions. It seems likely that the team will be led by Stryker, now played by Danny Huston. Taylor Kitsch, who will play Gambit, may have an important role, judging by the fact that apparently some of the filming is to take place in New Orleans. Also, Dominic Monaghan of Lost fame is set to play Barnell, who is either Beak from Morrison's run, or perhaps a new character all together. Slated for a May 2009 release, it is up to director Gavid Hood to prevent this from being the last X-men film for some time. [casting info from Variety]
