Position: Owner

Favorite Comics: The Boys, Civil War, Fables, Mouse Guard, Preacher, Pride of Baghdad, Pyongyang, Rising Stars, Superman Red Son, Wanted

The Deal: Matt attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating in 1999. He worked in Orange County, CA at a private equity firm before joining a leading DC think tank in 2002. In 2005 Matt realized that he loved his job and got along great with his bosses, yet he still wanted to be his own boss. He figured it was now or never, so he decided to realize a long held dream of his and opened Fantom Comics in November of 2005.

Now Matt enjoys spreading the gospel of quality comics to those never exposed to the medium. Of course, he also loves debating the minutia of fandom with fellow nerds, and quoting esoteric lines from geeky movies and TV with like-minded individuals.

Matt can be reached at: fantomcomics@gmail.com

CEE-CEE SWALLING

Position: Employee

Favorite Comics: Amphigory, Fun Home, Fables, Gemma Bovery, Watchmen, It's A Bird..., anything by Jhonen Vasquez, Superman (in any and all cases), Percy Gloom, Left Bank Gang, Three Paradoxes, The Escapist, Anything by Darwyn Cooke, and Umbrella Academy.

The Deal: Cee-Cee is a Junior studying Literature and Theatre at American University. She doesn't know what she is going to do with her majors, so please stop asking. During her time at AU she has fallen back in love with comics and has used her connections to land the sweetest job. When she is not in rehearsals, studying, working on costumes, babysitting, or at work she can be found...sleeping, because there is no such thing as free time for college students. During her commute she likes to sing Barenaked Ladies songs and in class she can be seen doodling instead of taking notes. If she had free time she would probably spend it drawing, doing collages, or reading Christopher Moore or Jasper Forde novels.

Cee-Cee is originally from Alaska (but is NOT an Eskimo, does NOT live in an igloo, and does NOT have a pet polar bear named 'Binky'). She currently resides in a very nice house in NW DC.

When she is on a studying break you can reach her at: luvly.in.ak@gmail.com
